Zorbing!

Zorbing – the recreation or sport of rolling downhill in an orb (!) The first zorbing site was established in Rotorua, New Zealand, where this photo was taken by one of our students.

The zorb consists of one ball inside the larger sphere and a layer of air in between to absorb shock for the rider. Also called sphereing or orbing, it has been growing in popularity since the mid 1990s. There are now locations in the U.S. in case you can’t go to New Zealand, but we recommend you make your way to Rotorua for the real deal. It’s only five hours from Wellington (the capital of New Zealand and the location of the AIFS program) and you can tour the Lord of the Rings sites nearby as well!
