We are excited to announce that our Shakespeare’s Globe Theater program has again been designated as a Fulbright program for 2013! Each year the U.S.- U.K. Fulbright Commission offers undergraduates the opportunity to attend an academic program at a highly regarded university in the United Kingdom.
The Commission says of the program:
“Shakespeare’s Globe is a unique international resource dedicated to the exploration of Shakespeare’s work and the playhouse for which he wrote, through the connected means of performance and education. Together, the Globe Theatre, Globe Exhibition & Tour and Globe Education seek to further the experience and international understanding of Shakespeare in performance.
This programme focuses on both acting and understanding Shakespeare texts and the students’ studies are supplemented by workshops focussing on combat and sword play, movement, dance and design. Students will also have the opportunity to watch performances at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and take part in a question and answer session with the Globe actors.”
