Why Italy

The boats and houses of Murano, Italy

For our summer photo contest, I asked entrants to say a little bit about why they chose where they did and why they would recommend it to others. Colleen went to Florence with us last summer and this is what she had to say:

I chose to go to Italy because growing up my grandma would talk of her visiting there each summer to be with her family. She would tell me all of the things she used to do and it intrigued me. She would tell me how her and her friends would just buy the next train ticket wherever it was going and go there for the day and I wanted to be able to share my experience with her and it was amazing to sit down with her and tell her all of the different stories. My experience was life changing and something that I can connect with my grandma forever.
