Adventures in Pisa and Cinque Terre

So last weekend was extremely eventful over here in Italia. I started my weekend with a trip to Pisa to see whats called the Leaning Tower of Pisa- maybe you have heard of it? Once there, it is pretty much mandatory to take a picture so that it looks like you are holding it up. Don’t try to act like you are to cool for it. Unfortunately my token tourist picture was less than photogenic to say the least but thanks to Instagram filters I was able to capture this gem.

Saturday I went to the Cinque Terre to hike the famous trails between the towns. Since most of the trails were closed due to landslides, only the last one between the fourth town and the fifth beach town was open. It is still about an hour and forty five minute hike…up a mountain…with lots of stairs.

All jokes aside, without a doubt everyone should go on this hike at least once in their life. The views that you get are so unbelievably stunning and it feels so rewarding when you finally get to the beach and look back at the mountain- did I mention it was a mountain that you just hiked? The hike is mostly up hill and ranges from being against the edge and coastline to more in the trees. It was cool whenever it did dip more toward the coast to see the fifth town getting closer and closer. And of course what better way to end a hike than laying out at the beach
