I have 10 hours left on the ground in the United States and then I’m off to London, England for four months. Why London? Because London is classic and classy. I fell in love with the city while visiting on a study abroad trip after my freshman year of college. It was a six-week multi-county tour of Europe. We started in Italy, made our way to France and then to the UK. When I stepped off the tube at the Earl’s Court station for the first time I knew that it would not be the last. I only had 10 short days to discover the magical ways of the city and, believe me, it was not enough. I cannot wait to explore the city and experience the life that is London.
Packing has become a nightmare. I always overpack, even though I know that the best thing to do is to pack light. I’ve heard that you should only pack what you can carry, but anyone who has ever seen me try to unload a full car of groceries in one trip knows that I am determined to carry everything that I pack. London is known for its style and fashion, and in order to fully immerse myself into the London lifestyle I’ll need to be fashionable, of course. Carrying my bags may be a struggle, but at least I’ll look cute doing it.
I am so excited to meet the rest of the students in the AIFS London Fall 2013 group and for the many adventures that this semester will bring. The next post I write will be from London! Cheers!
