No, really… can it?!
I’ve been in London for 2 1/2 days, and I have already fell head-over-heels in love with it! Everything about it- the serene atmosphere,
the architecture, the beautiful people, the SHOPPING! Perhaps, this is just me being a typical tourist, but this is one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been to!
Of course when I first touched down in London, my nerves got the best of me. But while standing in the customs line for over 45 minutes, I realized that I had very little to be afraid of.
I have to say, the biggest obstacle for me at the moment would have to be the money. The currency exchange is so vast, that it’s overwhelming. Once I realized that money was an actual object in this scenario, I knew my spending was going to have to be very scarce (a concept that is hard for me to understand considering I just want to buy everything here).
I also didn’t realize that they do not have paper currency for the 1 and 2 pounds, and that they use coins. I never paid much attention to the money I was getting back until this one time, when I was supposed to recieve 7 pounds and some odd amount of pence back and I only received a 5 paper note and some change. I figured they had made up the difference with the coins, but when I quickly looked, it didn’t seem right. Convinced I was being ripeed off, I immediately examined the coins. It was then when I came to the realization that the coins I was getting were indeed 1 pound coins. So here’s a little tidbit for those who don’t know: In London, they do not have 1 and 2 pound paper notes, they have coins.
All in all, I can seriously say, so far, so good. No complaints here.
