Week One Living the Viña Life

Hi friends! This is my very first blog post from Viña del Mar, Chile. The first week in this beautiful country has been quite a rollercoaster.

I am so excited to be able to be living a life I never thought I would have the opportunity to be a part of. I’m not going to lie and say that it has been easy, because it hasn’t. While I am doing all that I can and trying to soak up all the opportunities that come with studying abroad, there is also sadness. I have found that no matter how independent you are, you can still get homesick. I am enjoying so much the opportunity to visit different places, go to beach and all the yummy churros, but at the same time I realize how much I miss my loved ones that are still in the states.

We have only had one day of classes, so these upcoming weeks are going to be a real learning and growing opportunity. While I am quite nervous to be in a class with all Chileans, at the same time it is exciting too. It is quite a challenge, but I am up for it.

So, to sum up my first week in Chile, I have had sunburn, major blisters from all the walking, homesickness, but at the same time I’ve had the time of my life getting to know a great group of people in this beautiful place called Viña.

This rollercoaster of emotions I have been on is sure to pay off in these upcoming weeks of travel, excitement and learning. Can’t wait for the next opportunity to post about my trip!
