Do you love to shop? What about haggling? Are you a fan of large crowds and small spaces? If you said yes to any of the above, Camden Market is for you! Camden Market is a gigantic outdoor flea market. It is the most amazing thing ever. You can buy clothes and food, home decor and touristy gifts for family and friends. They have jewelry, souveniors, clothes and so much more. If you can think of it, Camden Market probably has it.
If you are traveling to London, Camden Market is a must see. I went last week and bought the most amazing shirt, pair of pants, and wall tapestry I have ever seen. I don’t think I’d be exaggerating if I said they were my most prized possessions.
I will warn you that at times it can be a tad frightening. They are a ton of people milling around and shop owners will talk your ear off if you stand too long near something they are trying to sell. But if you just walk around and get into the groove, Camden Market is a mellow way to spend an afternoon.
There are two other outdoor markets, Portobello Market and Borough Market. Portobello was nice but had a lot less to offer. I haven’t been to Borough Market yet, which is more like a farmers market, but I definitely plan to. The best times to go to any of these markets is the weekends because even though it will be more crowded, all the vendors will be there.
