What’s going on in Florence right now? We just got the April Newsletter from Florence and there’s something unique, fun and interesting going on pretty much every day of the week! What’s on the schedule for the next few weeks? Here’s just a sample:
Tuesday – Lecture
Why did the Renaissance happen in Florence? Florence, a small inland city became a major player in the Mediterranean. How did Florence become the center of western art production, and a major center for the exchange of fiscal wealth in those years? The combination of factors that determined such a flourishing is both fascinating and surprising, and probably not what you would be expecting!

Thursday – Opera

Friday – Pizza Making Class
Become a real pizzaiolo and enjoy your creation at Ristorante Finisterrae.
Monday – Florence at Sunset
Visit the Torre Arnolfo and Palazzo Vecchio for the most spectacular view of the city!
Tuesday – Pastry Class
Enjoy a 2-hour pastry class and learn how to make some of the most popular delicacies in Italy.
Wednesday – Lasagna Night with Italians
Want to practice your Italian? Join a dinner with Italian students! Taste three different kinds of lasagna and try out your language skills.
Thursday – Italian Cooking Class
On the menu: risotto with zucchini and saffron, chicken cacciatorre, ricotta cake with pinapple sauce. Yum!
Friday – Visit the Medici Villas
Learn more about the famous family with visits to La Petraia and Villa Demidoff.
Monday – Soccer Match
Fiorentina vs. Verona!
