It’s the most wonderful time of the year…the NAFSA Annual Conference!

Are you at NAFSA this year? AIFS is at Booth 1716 so stop by to see our new display, pick up catalogs and publications, learn about new programs and scholarships, and talk study abroad!

What is NAFSA? Founded in 1948 as the National Association of Foreign Student Advisers, NAFSA was originally a professional organization for those who worked with international students studying in the United States. Today, NAFSA is the Association of International Educators and promotes international education and exchange all over the world. It’s mission sums up why we in “the field” feel international education is so important:

NAFSA believes that international education advances learning and scholarship, fosters understanding and respect among people of diverse backgrounds and perspectives, is essential for developing globally competent individuals, and builds leadership for the global community.

Each year NAFSA holds an annual conference and this year it’s in Boston. International education professionals from more than 100 countries will be there to learn, connect, and explore “new horizons” in international education.

You can learn more about NAFSA, and how you can advocate for increased access and funding for study abroad, on their website and join the conversation with the hashtag #NAFSA15!
