Hello Future Study Abroad Student,
I am writing this letter to you after having spent nine weeks in the beautiful city of London, England. Whether you’re thinking of going abroad or have already signed up, here is my attempt to explain why studying abroad is the best possible decision you could ever make.
Studying abroad allows you to spend a number of months in a culture you’ve most likely only dreamt of. But, when you actually get on the plane, it all becomes a striking reality. Along with this reality comes a number of questions:
Who will I be friends with?
Will I like it there?
How will I survive without my friends and family?
What will I miss at home?
And most importantly…
What did I get myself into?!
I’ll admit, even though I had gone abroad before, I still faced these questions as I settled into my seat on my plane.
But trust me, going abroad is the best decision you could have ever made. By going abroad, you have the opportunity to learn a whole new culture and meet people from all over the world, and even from all over the States.
So, next time you’re feeling nervous just put a smile on your face, because even if that smile won’t answer your questions, it’s a great step towards creating a new era in your life.
New adventures are waiting for you out there, and this is your chance to go chase your dreams. Besides, you don’t want to look back on your experience abroad and think what if… because then you’ll never know!
