AIFS offers more sessions than ever to accommodate students’ busy schedules. In addition to our semester programs and the addition of extra summer sessions, we also offer May Term Programs, Quarter Programs, a short term September program in Spain and a number of January Term Programs. Maymester
We offer Maymester Programs in Cannes, France, Florence, Italy and Granada, Spain- the perfect time to see the sights of Europe before the summer tourist season.
Cannes
Earn up to 4 credits studying French at the College International de Cannes. The Maymester Program coincides with the Cannes Film Festival, giving students the chance to live and study in Cannes during this exciting and world renowned festival. Begin or improve your French with intensive French language study at the College International de Cannes, founded on the principles of with the express purpose of introducing foreign students to the French language and culture. Florence
Spend your the May term in the classic city of Florence, Italy. AIFS offers a unique Maymester Program which give students the opportunity to take courses in studio art, history, food and culture and marketing. Classes focus on Italian life and culture and formal classroom teaching is supplemented with on-site learning in and around Florence. Students taking the optional Rome and Venice excursions can take a one-credit Introduction to Italian Art Course. See more here.
Granada
Spend 4 weeks in Granada studying Spanish at the University of Granada. Earn up to 6.5 credits by taking one of nine levels of Spanish offered, and a 1.5-credit Conversation Practice course that is available for Beginners. Take part in cultural activities such as a visit to the Alhambra and Generalife Gardens, as well as an included day trip to the beautiful beaches of Nerja along Spain’s Costa del Sol. See more here.
September
Earn up to 3 credits during a 2-week September Program, studying Spanish at the world-renowned University of Salamanca. Spanish is available at all levels from beginner to superior. See more here.
Quarter
For students whose schools run on a quarter system, we offer a fall quarter in Paris, France at the renowned Sorbonne. See more here. And starting in the fall of 2016 we will also offer a quarter semester in Athens, Greece. See more about the Athens quarter here.
January Term
With a new program in the Galapagos for 2016 we are excited to expand our January Term Programs and help more students go abroad. Students can study language (French and Spanish), environmental science, writing, politics, art history and more. See all of our J Term Programs here.
