Each year AIFS offers site visits to different program locations in the fall and spring. Education abroad professionals know that having good on-site knowledge of programs is key to successful student advising. For our fall 2015 trip , twelve participants – including education abroad professionals and academic advisors – joined AIFS staff to learn more about our program in Athens, Greece.
The group met with the Resident Director and staff, received a warm welcome at the American College of Greece, attended sessions presented by the ACG International Office, talked with AIFS students, attended classes, and toured the campus and housing and facilities.
Vincent Peters, Director of Global Programs at Bethel University reported:
I was very impressed with the program structure, students’ services and the committed partnership between AIFS and ACG. The site visit was finely organized with great attention to details ensuring our comfort and opportunities to enjoy the generous Greek hospitality and culture.
Cultural activities included lunch in the Plaka, a walking tour of Athens and the Acropolis, and an excursion to Cape Sounio and the Temple of Poseidon.
Representatives from nine schools participated, and AIFS was represented by: Sharman Hedayati (Vice President, Director of Admissions and Operations), Tracy Dicks (Vice President, AIFS London) and Alice Anastassiou (AIFS Resident Director, Athens Program).
