We’re excited to announce that the deadline to apply for most fall programs has been extended to May 15th. Spaces are limited, so hurry up and get your application in—you won’t want to look back with regrets because you missed the opportunity of a lifetime!
AIFS has new programs for the fall semester, and incredible, life-changing opportunities are also available in territories that are often less-charted by students in locations like Central and South America.
1. San José, Costa Rica
Located almost in the center of this Central American country, San José has all the facilities of a big city while being within reach of both coasts, volcanoes and national parks unique to the central highlands. Experience “Tico” culture firsthand and find the true meaning in pura vida, the Costa Rican way of life.
Costa Rica offers a myriad of ecological wonders! Outside of the classroom you can see Arenal Volcano, bathe in Tabacon hot springs, explore Monteverde Cloud Forest and encounter wildlife like you’ve never seen before.
Studying abroad with AIFS in San José also means taking great courses in disciplines like architecture, environmental science, psychology, Spanish language and more. You’ll receive a transcript from Veritas University, the first private university in Costa Rica, which has grown to become a highly respected institution in the Latin American academic community.

With AIFS in Buenos Aires, you can take courses in both English and Spanish (with no previous Spanish experience required) in a variety of disciplines at the University of Belgrano, one of the oldest and largest private universities in Argentina where international students play a vital role in community life. The mission of the International Department is to prepare students for professional life as a global citizen.

When you study with AIFS in Chile, your transcript will be issued by Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (UAI), a private institution with a mission to educate young adults so that they may contribute productively to society. Viña del Mar hosts UAI’s newest campus, housed up in the hills with astounding views of the Pacific Ocean and garden city of Viña. With the ability to take a wide variety of courses, in English or Spanish, the academic world is your oyster!

4. São Paulo, Brazil
With its large size, booming urban cities and vibrant culture, Brazil is often considered South America’s most influential nation. Imagine sandy beaches, incredible biodiversity, samba infused metropolises and hidden towns everywhere you look. Known as Sampa to the locals, São Paulo is a city full of experimental music, an energetic dance scene, world-class museums, theaters and a growing fashion industry.
By studying with AIFS in São Paulo, you’ll receive transcripts from Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado (FAAP). FAAP was founded in 1947 as a foundation designed to support and foster fine arts, but it has grown over the years to become a very respected and important academic institution in Brazil. FAAP is an international institution, with partners on five continents, in more than 50 countries. AIFS students are encouraged to take a Portuguese language course to aid in immersing themselves in the Brazilian culture and community.
