For students interested in conflict resolution and peace studies, AIFS is offering the Conflict Transformation and Social Justice program in Belfast, Northern Ireland this Summer.

Where better to study conflict resolution and peace building than in Belfast? Northern Ireland’s capital has emerged from the conflict known as ‘The Troubles,’ undergoing a remarkable transformation to become a thriving, modern city.  Belfast is a great base from which to explore the beautiful Irish countryside, beaches and coastal views. It is home to a vibrant cultural scene with museums and galleries, music and dance, food markets, great cafes and restaurants with shopping all on your doorstep.

In conjunction with the Senator George Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice at Queen’s University in Belfast, this 5-week AIFS program offers a unique opportunity for students to focus on different approaches to conflict transformation in Northern Ireland and around the world—including case studies from the Balkans, the Middle East, South Asia and South America.
