Marsel Melkumian, a student at Skyline College explains why he chose to study abroad. We are excited to share with you the highlights of Marsel’s experience.
Transitioning from a teen to a young adult, I knew I had so many things yet to discover. At that point in my life my mindset was to keep my leg on the gas pedal and seize all opportunities that came my way. This is exactly why I decided to study abroad, I wanted to experience culture shock and broaden my horizons.
To do all this in Florence, Italy has been an unbelievable experience which I don’t take for granted. The AIFS program has been incredible, the staff, professors and all the students have been like a second family to me. We all came here for the same reason and it has been amazing to grow and develop together in a new city. It has also been great to create a bond with the AIFS Staff, they have been an instrumental part of our study abroad experience. I know that I will cherish my time studying abroad and it will be something I remember forever.
