Vlogging my way through study abroad: From France to Ireland | AIFS Customized Faculty Led Programs

Last Updated on March 3, 2020 by AIFS Abroad Customized Faculty-Led

This semester, Jon Recchia is studying in London with Illinois Wesleyan University. To remember his semester abroad, Jon is vlogging – and blogging – about his experiences studying on an AIFS Customized Faculty Led program. So far, Jon has been making weekly vlogs of his time here. Check out weeks four to six below:

Week 4: Family Bonding

In my fourth week in London, I met up with one of my cousins Maria, for a trip to the Tower of London. We saw a couple plays, Girl From The North Country and The Ferryman, in London’s vast theater scene. To read more about these plays, check out my previous AIFS blog post. At the end of the week, I flew to Dublin for the IWU Director’s Trip with the rest of the IWU students.

Week 5: Irish Edition

I spent an entire week in Dublin, hopping in and out of the various pubs in Dublin’s famous Temple Bar area and toured the Guinness Factory. I also checked out a few plays, including one at Ireland’s National Theater, The Abbey Theater. At the end of the week, I got out of the city and visited the Wicklow Mountains and the Cliffs of Moher.

Week 6: J’aime la France

I continued to travel in my sixth week abroad, taking a coach to Paris, France. I went to many of the popular picture spots in Paris, snapping shots of the famous monuments and architecture. I spent a full day in the massive Louvre Museum and another day in the Palace of Versailles.
