Faith — AIFS in Cannes, France

University of Alabama

Hi, my name is Faith Hofmann. I am a sophomore at the University of Alabama. I am studying abroad in Cannes, France. I chose this program because I always knew that I wanted study abroad in France and when looking at different places to study abroad Cannes just looked like the best option for me. I love film and I am really excited to attend the Cannes Film Festival. A fun fact about me is that I have been to 32 out of the 50 states in the United States.

Allyson – AIFS in Florence, Italy

Radford University

My name is Allyson Clawson. I am from Stuarts Draft, Virginia and I attend Radford University in the beautiful New River Valley. I have selected Florence, Italy as my study abroad location for the upcoming semester. I look forward to fully immersing myself in the unique culture and I hope to learn so much along the way. I absolutely love artwork and being given the chance to travel to Florence, which is well-known for playing a key role in the early Renaissance works, is a dream come true. I am beyond excited for the opportunity I have been given and cannot wait to start this next adventure.

Kayla — AIFS in London, England

University of Houston

Hello, my name is Kayla Torres. I was born in Corpus Christi, Texas but shortly moved to Houston, Texas. I’m currently 21 years old, and all my life I have enjoyed watching movies, reading books, magazines, and anything to do with creating. I own two wonderful dogs, who I miss and love dearly. For college, I study journalism at the University of Houston to stay close to home while I finish school. In the future, I would like to design page layouts, write for a fashion or music magazine, and master the art of graphic design. I would even like to dabble in media production because of my love for films. I chose to study in London, England because every one of my favorite films, singers, actors/actresses would somehow turn out to be British. It shortly felt like a place where I belonged and so I decided that London would be an excellent place to study.

Jared – AIFS in San JosĂ©, Costa Rica

St. John Fisher College

After pursuing my dream to study abroad in a foreign country, I feel that I am furthering my goals of finding more in life. A big thank you goes out to my home university of St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York for giving me this incredible opportunity to visit such a culturally rich country. Believe it or not, Costa Rica wasn’t the only choice when it came down to deciding where I wanted to go abroad, however, I felt like it was the right choice because of the people, nature, biodiversity and beautiful scenery here. One fun fact about myself would be that I like to keep an open mind and think of how I can learn from my mistakes instead of dwelling on them. Gracias y Pura Vida.

Jasmin – AIFS in Perth, Australia

Rowan University

I chose Perth because the environment and culture is completely different from what I am used to in New Jersey. I want to step out of my comfort zone and take the adventure of a life time on the other side of the world. Australia has a rich culture in many different aspects and I hope to learn a lot in and outside of the classroom. Fun Fact: I have a chocolate lab named Quincy.

Annie Gray – AIFS in Stellenbosch, South Africa

Boston College

Hello! My name is Annie Gray and I am traveling to Stellenbosch, South Africa with AIFS for the spring semester! While I love my home university of Boston College, I could not pass up the opportunity to study abroad during my junior year. I chose to study with AIFS because the program provides students with once-in-a-lifetime travel opportunities, and an environment in which to make friends from different colleges within the United States, as well as international students. A fun fact about me is that I can fold my tongue into the shape of a three-leaf clover. If you’re lucky, you might catch me showing off my stuff in one of my AIFS vlogs!

Justin (AKA “Jae”) – AIFS in Cannes, France

Chapman University

Hello! My name is Justin Staten but I go by Jae. I am a Film Production major at Chapman University. I wanted to study abroad because I knew it would give me an experience unlike any other. I feel it is important to indulge in other cultures and become educated about the world outside of our own. As a content creator, I hope to be inspired by all of the new and exciting things that I witness while in abroad. A fun fact about me is that I did musical theatre in high school and am a big fan of musicals!

Lauren – AIFS in London, England

Towson University

My name is Lauren MacNeill and I am a Mass Communications major at Towson University in Maryland. I chose London as my study abroad location because it is a world cultural capital that has so much to offer. Not only is it a city that allows easy access to other places in Europe but it is also a city that I don’t even have to leave in order to experience many other wonderful cultures. I have previously visited Germany, England, and Wales and can’t wait to share my upcoming traveling experiences with everyone! Cheers!

Chapman University

My name is Cassidy Keola, and I am a sophomore communication major and public relations minor at Chapman University. I was born and raised on the island of Oʻahu. My hobbies include going to the beach, hiking with friends and watching Netflix. One fun fact about myself is that I actually started my own YouTube vlog channel this summer that features all of the fun my friends and I have in Hawaii.
