This semester, AIFS in Rome students enrolled in the Made in Italy course went on a site visit to learn more about the Italian fashion giant, Fendi.
One of the biggest benefits of studying abroad is the hands-on learning inside and outside of the classroom.
Professor Francesca Conti led the site visit to Journées Particulières, Fendi’s exhibit at Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana. Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, or “Square Colosseum” as Romans call it, is a magnificent six-story marble tower featuring a neoclassical facade of never-ending arches.
The Journées Particulières exhibition takes visitors on a journey. Artisans, designers and employees of the maison shared their passion and taste for excellence during master classes, workshop visits, and demonstrations. This was a unique experience for our students. They were able to have and exchange and learn from the employees and artisans, many of whom were perfumers, watchmakers, jewelers, boot and leather goods manufacturers, seamstresses, and dressmakers. They also learned about Italian fashion excellence.
