AIFS is discounting fees for all students accepted into the Rome Study Abroad Program for Spring 2020. It’s now more affordable than ever to immerse yourself in history, art and the Italian language while savoring some of the best cuisine in the world!
When you study abroad in Rome, you will see legendary sites such as the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Vatican and Trevi Fountain while living in a student apartment or Italian homestay. Sample scrumptious gelato in a stunning piazza, drink espresso in a Roman café and try authentic street food like supplì, fried rice balls stuffed with Bolognese sauce and mozzarella. With our all-inclusive program fees, your study abroad adventure with AIFS features a convenient meal plan that includes group meals, tastings and meal vouchers valued at $1,300.
The discounted program fee also includes tuition—you’ll earn up to 19 semester credits from Richmond University in Rome. With many program options to choose from, students can take courses that cover topics including art, photography, film, communications, history, marketing, psychology, world religions, economics, political science, fashion and all levels of Italian language instruction. All courses, with the exception of Italian language courses, are taught in English.
Program options include the Music Program, designed for music majors studying abroad in Rome. In conjunction with the Saint Louis College of Music, students can take courses in bass, drums, guitar, percussion, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and vocals.
AIFS also offers numerous internships and volunteer opportunities. Internships are available in art, design and media, art history, business, communications, education, film studies, finance, food studies, history, international business, international relations, management and tourism, marketing, museum studies, political science and social science.
The program includes many cultural activities. You’ll bring a little bit of Rome home with you when you enjoy an Italian cooking class and learn how to make homemade pasta. Other activities include wine tastings, theater performances and visits to the Colosseum and Vatican Museums.
You’ll love the included excursions too! A day trip to Assisi, Spello and the Umbria region is included in the program. Here you will explore medieval villages, enjoy sightseeing with an art professor, tour the Basilica of St. Francis, visit a mill and indulge in olive tasting. The program also includes a 3-day getaway to Sorrento, Naples, Pompeii and Capri Island. You will visit the archaeological ruins of Pompeii, enjoy sightseeing with a Richmond art history professor, hike to the top of Mount Vesuvius and visit the National Archaeological Museum.
