Spend 4 weeks this summer studying at Queen’s University Belfast and earn 5 credits. Classroom lectures are enhanced through incomparable field trips and excursions. Choose from 3 Academic Program Options:
Conflict Transformation & Social Justice – Gain an international perspective on conflict transformation and social justice, drawing on the experience of conflict in Northern Ireland. Put your learning into practice and combine academic study with engagement from different sectors of civic society and communities in Northern Ireland. Engage in dialogue with academics, former combatants, former paramilitaries, religious leaders, political activists and enjoy a range of staff-led site visits.
Irish Studies – Study the history, heritage, culture, politics, language and literature of Ireland. This program examines the history and the reach of Irish cultural influences around the world. With lectures from world-leading scholars, meetings with musicians, poets and politicians, trips to the historic Titanic shipyards and the rugged Antrim coastline, the Irish Studies Program is truly an unforgettable and inspiring experience!
Story (NEW!) – Explore the universal theme of storytelling with the new Story Program. Students can choose to focus on the medium of their choice – concentrations include songwriting, storytelling, testimonial theatre, myth and memory, immersive storytelling, prose and screenwriting. The Story Program concludes with an exhibit of students’ final productions.
