When thinking about useful tools for future study abroad students, I immediately thought of phones and navigation, which is why I am going to share some of my favorite apps…
AIFS Program: Grenoble, France | University of Wisconsin - Whitewater | Bonjour tout le monde! My name is Whitney Wrolson and I am a senior at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater. I am currently majoring in General Management with an emphasis in Sports Management, and minoring in French! I studied abroad in Grenoble, France at the Université Grenoble Alpes where I took the Intensive French Language course. This class helped improve my French immensely because I had it for four hours a day, five days a week, and then on top of that, I went home to a host family where I continued to speak French! My experience was filled with seeing the world, making new friends, eating LOTS of gelato, staring at the French Alps, and learning that I am capable of anything I put my mind to (like going halfway across the world by myself!). I am so thankful for AIFS because it allowed me to go after a dream I didn’t know I had (aka to study abroad). My goal as an AIFS Ambassador is to encourage students to take the leap and go for it because why live life with regrets? A quote that I learned from my host family’s friend was “le goût de revenez-y”, which I like to translate as “wanting more” or “the feeling of home”. I hope to keep this quote with me to remind myself to always be wanderlust, and always see the world!
