Nele Thomsen
Resident Director, AIFS in Berlin, Germany | Studied History, Art History and English | Nele studied abroad in high school in a small town in England and developed a love for British Tea and literature there. Before starting university, Nele went abroad to Spain to work as an au pair in Barcelona. Nele's bookshelves are filled equally with travel and cook books, and she loves trying out new recipes and watching cooking shows. She has read Pride and Prejudice numerous times and enjoyed most film versions, although Colin Firth will remain the original Mr. Darcy for her. Nele worked as a tour guide, turning her passion for art and history into welcoming visitors to Potsdam. She also co-published guidebooks for the city and still takes students on tours to this neighboring city of Berlin. Since 2014, Nele has been working for AIFS as the Resident Director in Berlin, working on faculty-led programs, as well as traditional programs.
