Miranda Rea
Resident Director, AIFS in Grenoble, France | BA (Hons) English & Politics; Post-Graduate Diploma in Office Management; TEFL Diploma (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) | After spending several years in Africa with her parents, Miranda chose to spend her gap year between high school and university working with a mother and baby clinic in Zambia, Africa. While there, she was recruited to teach a class of 5-to-7-year olds in a small international school. Since moving to France, and obtaining French citizenship, Miranda continues to enjoy traveling and meeting people from all over the world. Surrounded by the French Alps, Miranda has developed a passion for hiking, which has perhaps been encouraged by the delicious blueberry pies traditionally found in local mountain cafés! Miranda also loves to spend time with her family and adorable Cavalier King Charles spaniel. Miranda joined AIFS as assistant to the Academic Advisor for London Programs. Shortly after, she transferred to AIFS Paris to organize and manage their Customized Faculty Led programs. Returning to AIFS London later that year, Miranda enjoyed working with student services on their summer programs with additional responsibility as a residential assistant in one of the AIFS Residences. In Fall 1989, Miranda was invited to integrate the AIFS Paris team as Social and Cultural Coordinator for the AIFS College program, which involved developing and leading excursions and helping students discover the many delights of Paris. In Fall 1994, Miranda moved to Grenoble, France as Resident Director, and manages all aspects of the on-site College, Summer and Customized Faculty Led programs which include host family recruitment and housing placements, student welfare, academic advising and university liaison, event organization and program administration. She has created strong relationships along the way and loves what she does!
