Cannes, France is the home of one of the world’s most acclaimed film festivals and, as such, is a huge epicenter of the film and visual performing arts industries. Founded in 1946, the Cannes Film Festival has become a staple and AIFS students often have the opportunity to attend. After much success for over 70 years, a new and exciting festival has emerged in 2018: Canneseries, which focuses on television series worldwide.
Canneseries “aims to highlight series from all over the world and to give an international voice to this increasingly popular and fiercely creative new art form.”
AIFS students were very excited to be able to attend this exciting new festival on the French Riviera. Jae from Chapman University reflects on his experience taking part in the event:
The Canneseries was a great event to experience for the first time. It was an honor and inspiration to see the shows and creators showcase their work and get praised for it. Given the chance to go to events such as Canneseries and the Cannes Film Festival encourage me to keep working at my art for the chance to be on that stage one day.
